Cala Ratjada is a well known holiday resort on the Balearic island of Mallorca. This place is very popular with tourists in the summer months and is always busy. Cala Ratjada is part of the community Capdepera. The name originates from fishing and translates Stingray Bay (Stingray = Ratjada). Even today it is the second most important fishing port to Palma. From here you can take a boat tour, for example, to Cala Millor or by speedboat, in 75 minutes, you can visit the neighbouring island of Menorca. Unlike some other ports the original nautical flair still prevails here. It is definitely worth hiring a car to experience this beautiful side of the island.

Unlike some resorts in Spain small, but nice hotels, are available in Cala Ratjada as well private houses or villas. The area boasts not only magnificent sand dunes and beautiful beaches, but numerous small bays which you can visit your car. Or follow in the footsteps of Chopin with a trip to the mountain village of Valldemossa in the interior of the island.

Getting to Cala Ratjada is easy. The roads are well developed, so it is not very far to your chosen holiday home, only about 80 kilometres from the airport.
